They are Capable Learners

This website is titled "They are Capable Learners" because many times special needs students will be overlooked and seen as incapable. But that is not the truth! Special need students are capable of anything and are some of the hardest workers and students I have ever met.

About Field Experience

Teacher Cadet is a class for high school students to learn more about what a teacher does and experiences. To see if that is something to pursue in the future.

My field experience was at Broomfield Heights Middle School in the Intensive Learning Center, ILC. It was grades six through eight with all needs.

I was involved in the subjects of language arts and math. Each subject was split up between whole group and individual work time (or working one on one with a paraprofessional).

About Savannah Fite

Hello! My name is Savannah Fite. I took the Teacher Cadet Program in order to learn more about what it takes to be a teacher. I have a huge heart and love for special needs, therefore I was placed in a middle school Intensive Learning Center, ILC. My other job is a Personal Care Provider for Vital Care and work with special need clients in their homes. Beyond that I also run the special needs program at my church, Good News Community Church.

Mentors & Teachers

Below are my wonderful and incredible mentors. Mrs. Stover is my Teacher Cadet teacher who has taught and lead me through this whole experience. Then there is Ms. Wales who is my mentor teacher and the one who allowed me to into her classroom, BHMS ILC, to learn how to be an amazing teacher, like herself.
